As per usual, the football season is flying by us at light speed. Our five-team parlay for week 10 of college football is here. Week 9 threw us some curve balls, we will try and avoid that this week. #15 Notre Dame (-3) @ Clemson – This is a name recognition line. Clemson just lost by 7 to NC State, a team Notre Dame pummeled. The Irish are rolling after their loss to Louisville. Meanwhile, Clemson has lost two in a row, and Dabo was yelling at a radio show caller. The Irish also outscore and defend better than Clemson. Notre Dame won’t steamroll the Tigers, but I’m seeing a 10-13 point win here. NOTE: 61% of the public money is on Notre Dame laying the points.

#11 Penn State (-8.5) @ Maryland – The Terps are in a complete tailspin. Three losses in a row, now they face an angry Penn State. The nation’s 5th ranked defense for yards given up will frustrate Maryland all afternoon. Look for the Lions to make the Terps one-dimensional, and then pounce with blitz after blitz. This won’t end well for Maryland, they just lost to Northwestern. A Team Penn State beat by 28. NOTE: 56% of the money is on Maryland @ +12 according to Action. If you can get 9 or less, roll with Penn State.

Westward Bound

#5 Washington (-3) @ #20 USC – This line seems flawed. The nation’s #1 pass offense against a team that basically can’t defend the pass. USC is coming off losses to Notre Dame and Utah and had to literally escape California. In the game against Cal, they needed 21 fourth-quarter points and to stop a Cal two-point conversion. Washington should be all over USC in this matchup. For reference, the Huskies beat Cal by 27 points. NOTE: Action Network shows Washington getting 1.5, and 60% of the money is on them. Even giving 3, the Huskies should win by 10-14 points.

Unranked but Hungry

Arkansas @ Florida (-3.5) – Arkansas can’t buy a win, and last game couldn’t buy a touchdown. The Gators sandwiched two wins in between losses to #1 Georgia and formerly ranked Kentucky. This is a “get a good bowl game” contest for Florida. They come back to the swamp ready to cleanse their palate after the Georgia game. They’re better in all phases than Arkansas and have The Swamp in their favor. Look for Mertz (2,127 yds/14 tds/2 int) to have his way with the Hogs. NOTE: The line moved to 6, and the money shifted to Arkansas. Don’t fear, the Hogs couldn’t score a touchdown last week. Look for Florida to win around 31-14.

My Alma Mater is in Trouble

Purdue @ #3 Michigan (-32.5) – I hate betting for, or against, my teams. I proudly graduated from Purdue. I love that we’re so good at basketball. In football, however, aside from big upsets, we’re not that good. And when our coach made comments about Michigan, I knew we were in trouble. This will be an old-fashioned butt-kicking. The Wolverines I’m sure heard Coach Walters’ comments. They will not let off the gas. This game was already lopsided, Michigan averages 21 more a game than Purdue and their defense is way better. In fact, the Wolverines only give up 5.9 points per game. Purdue might not reach that number. This is shaping up to be a 50-3 type embarrassment. NOTE: 80% of the money is on Michigan covering.
