Walters Convinced Michigan Cheated

Coach doesn’t mince words

First of all…Boiler Up! With that said, I don’t think my boys have a chance in hell against Michigan. However, coach Ryan Walters is convinced Michigan cheated. There has been little discussion of the upcoming game between No. 3 Michigan and Purdue on Saturday due to the recent controversy surrounding the Michigan Football program.

The Wolverines (8-0) are expected to easily beat the Boilermakers (2-6) by a margin of 32.5 points, and the game may be decided by halftime. However, Purdue’s head coach Ryan Walters may have given Michigan extra motivation with his recent comments. Walters spoke frankly about the game, saying that allegations are no longer a factor when it comes to Michigan.

“They aren’t just allegations,” Walters clarified. “The incident did happen, and we have concrete evidence to back it up. We have video footage, ticket purchases, and sales records that can be traced back to the perpetrators. As a result, we’ve had to train our players to use different signals and operate in a new way when playing offensively. You may even notice us huddling up for the first time this season. It is what it is, but we remain excited to go out there and play, and I believe it’ll make for a great story.”

Walters’ remarks were made one day after Big Ten coaches held a conference call that lasted almost an hour, during which they urged commissioner Tony Petitti to take action against Michigan. The coaches were reportedly almost unanimous in their view that action needs to be taken immediately, despite the NCAA investigation into sign-stealing still being underway.

I’m not sure I am a big fan of opposing coaches practically begging for a punishment. I think that shows weakness. The other coaches should lay low, and let this thing play out. It is uncertain whether Petitti will take any action before the NCAA completes its investigation, but it is becoming evident that important individuals within the Big Ten Conference are exerting pressure from all sides. Petitti has a meeting scheduled with the President of the University of Michigan, Santa Ono, on Friday morning, leading to further speculation that some form of penalty may be imminent.
