NFL DFS Value Picks: Week 9

Guten Mornen everyone, as we enter week 9 of the NFL season I can confidently say, nothing is clearer in terms of who the best and worst teams are this year. We have hit the halfway point of the season and figuring out the best value plays has been fun to do every week. Last week if you tailed my picks (reminder), you probably had a good week. I’m going to try and replicate that again for all of you this week. Let’s get into the best NFL DFS value picks for week 9.

Quarterback

Aidan O’Connell, Las Vegas Raiders (DK-$4500/FD-$6200)

It worked last week with Will Levis, so I’m doubling again this week with O’Connell. The Raiders just fired Josh McDaniels and they have lots of talent who have pent up frustration ready to explode. Antonio Pierce is going to have these guys ready to run through a wall, which is unfortunate for the Giants, but great for Aidan. I expect he gets the ball out quick to his playmakers like DaVante Adams and Josh Jacobs. Do I expect a 4 TD game? No, but a serviceable 200+ yards with 2 TDs shouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility today.

Running Back

Keaontay Ingram, Arizona Cardinals (DK-$4300/FD-$5000)

The news of Emari Demarcado being out today means that Keaontay Ingram could be in for a big day. The Cardinals are without Damien Williams as well after he suffered a foot injury last Sunday. That really means Ingram is the lone man standing, which is great for a RB that’s on the 4th best rushing team in the league. Plus, add in the fact that Arizona traded Josh Dobbs and will be starting rookie Clayton Tune, that spells a strong run effort. Is Ingram going to have a 100+ yards, he will have the chances to make good on it. The value and possible output is just to good to pass up here.

Wide Receiver

Demario Douglas, New England Patriots (DK-$4000/FD-$5400)

In Week 8, Douglas led the team’s wide receivers in snaps (41) and caught a season-high five passes on seven targets for 25 yards. Let’s also remind all of you folks at home that Douglas will not have to compete with Kendrick Bourne (done for season with torn ACL) or DeVante Parker (concussion protocol) for targets.  That means he’s really just competing against JuJu Smith-Schuster for receiver targets. Against a Washington team that just had AJ Brown torch them, expect Mac Jones to see if Douglas can create some of that same success.

Tight End

Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (DK-$3000/FD-$4900)

Otton secured four of six targets for 27 yards in the Buccaneers’ 24-18 loss to the Bills on Thursday night. It was a serviceable performance from a DFS standpoint, although everyone seems to be waiting for that big yardage game from Otton. I think it could come this week against Houston. Baker has gotten the ball to Otton for 9 catches over the last two weeks, which is a big improvement from earlier in the year (13 catches in 5 games). Seems like a good sign and chance for bigger games to come. That’s why he’s a good play in a volatile tight end market that is unpredictable after Mark Andrews and TJ Hockenson this weeks.

Defense

New York Giants (DK-$2300/FD-$4000)

I know, you’re thinking the Giants? Really? Didn’t you choose Aidan O’Connell just above in this article to have a good game? You would be correct about all of that. Both can be true though. The Raiders can score two touchdowns and Aidan can have a good statistical game. The Giants can also hold the Raiders to 14 points and that’s a defensive win. The Giants have been playing well as of late 12 fppg in 3 of their last 4 games. They are the cheapest defense on DraftKings and middle of the pack on Fanduel. They are a value either way.

Hope these picks add some value to your lineups today and help everyone get in the green!
