Monday Night DFS Showdown: Eagles v. Chiefs

This is the game. The one we have all had circled on the calendar and that was before we even thought Taylor Swift would be in attendance. A rematch of last years super bowl that came down to a final minute field goal. It is going to be a good one folks. These are the games we as fans love to see and it being primetime Monday night the week of Thanksgiving couldn’t be better. The Eagles come in with the best record in the NFL and the Chiefs are not far behind. Both teams face questions of their offense and it’s ability to move the ball, but I don’t think that’s a narrative that will hang around long. Let’s figure out if it’s Hurts or Mahomes or someone else in tonights captain spot. Time to break down this Monday night DFS showdown.

Captain

D’Andre Swift, Philadelphia Eagles (DK-$12,600/FD-$13,000)

This may come as a shocking pick to many of you, but hear me out. Swift has had a very good season for the Eagles so far, that’s not why I am picking him though. The weather is going to play a factor in tonights game. The forecast is showing cold weather in the 30/40s range with wind and rain. That amounts to perfect running the football weather. Philadelphia has a great offensive line and will open plenty of running lanes. Swift has had some big games this year, but none over the last few weeks. I think that changes with the bright lights on in Kansas City.

Flex

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (DK-$11,000/FD-$16,500)

I am not leaving Jalen Hurts out of my lineup. The man can throw it and run it. He has the most rushing TDs by any QB by a large margin over the past two years. In a rainy weather game, give me all the Jalen Hurts you can. I know I went with Swift as my captain pick, but that’s so I could fit hurts and some other major talent into this lineup tonight. We know the stars will be out to shine. Hurts had the bye week to heal up his bruised knee and that may allow him to unleash some runs like we saw in last years Super Bowl against the Chiefs.

Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs (DK-$10,000/FD-$14,000)

I know, I am leaning heavy towards the run aspect of this game tonight, BUT Taylor may be in attendance. That matters apparently for Kelce and his stat line, but also he is what makes the Chiefs offense go. The Dolphins tripled teamed him at times and held him to a very low output two weeks ago in Germany. Philly will not be able to do the same. Eagles struggle against tight ends and the best in the league will take advantage. Alright nah, I expect the Chiefs to have to pass plenty because the Eagles boast the best run defense in the league. Even with angry Isiah Pacheco running for Kansas City, it wont do much. I don’t know about you, but expect a heavy dose of Kelce tooo-night.

Bargain Bin

Noah Gray, Kansas City Chiefs (DK-$1800/FD-$5500)

He is no Travis Kelce, but Noah Gray has been a decent part of the Chiefs offense lately. He has 6 catches for 60+ yards over the last three games. A guy that will cost you the bare minimum for showdown and get points, what more do you need? No really, unless you rather have a throwaway that gets zero points. Gray should be good for one or two catches tonight with a tough pass rush, Mahomes should look for plenty of quick routes. That is where Gray and Kelce come in to play tonight.

Best of luck to everyone in this Monday night DFS showdown and hopefully we get the game we all want and deserve.
