Broncos trade away star receiver

The Denver Broncos are trading wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for 2024 fifth- and sixth-round picks, according to Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

This is the second star to be let go by the Broncos in the past few weeks. Russell Wilson was also released. That move seemingly was financial, as the Broncos avoided paying Wilson an additional $37 million, even though they took a record cap hit with the move.

Browns bolstering

The Browns, meanwhile, made the playoffs despite injuries plaguing their season. The move brings another weapon in as they anticipate DeShaun Watson playing the whole season. Of course, there are rumors they may let Chubb’s contract expire. If they want my advice, you probably want to keep a game changer like Chubb, despite any financial motivations.

A compliment to the existing weapons

Jeudy will complement what the Browns already have and give them a deep threat. The former Bronco has 211 career catches for 3,053 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He played college football at Alabama, where he was awarded the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s best wide receiver as a sophomore in 2018, and was drafted by the Broncos with the 15th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.
