The news just broke. Russ is out.
The Denver Broncos informed quarterback Russell Wilson he will be released when the new league year opens, the team announced Monday.

Where will Wilson land? Plenty of teams could use a viable option, but will anyone take a stab at the aging quarterback after a rough spell in Denver? The 75th overall pick in 2012 by the Seahawks has amassed 43,653 yards passing and 5,307 rushing. He played in two Super Bowls with Seattle, winning one and losing the other. The loss was the infamous interception at the goal line.
The move will leave the Broncos with an NFL-record $85 million dead cap hit. Wilson, 35, was due to have his 2025 salary of $37 million become fully guaranteed on March 17. His 2024 salary of $39 million is already guaranteed.

“As we move forward, we are focused on building the strongest team possible for the 2024 season and beyond. We are excited to improve this offseason and will have the flexibility to get better through the draft and free agency.”
