Thursday Night DFS Showdown: Bengals v. Ravens

The Thursday night gods are finally being kind to us and blessing us with a great matchup from the AFC North. Baltimore will host a divisional clash between the Bengals and Ravens. It should be a good game with plenty of stars showing out. This is a game that is fun for all in the daily fantasy world because you really have to figure out who has the advantage and how many stars can you fit in your lineup without having to sacrifice too much in the bargain bin. Let’s get into this Thursday Night DFS Showdown and figure out who you need to play to end up in the green tonight!

Captain

Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens (DK-$13,200/FD-$13,000)

I know he had a lackluster game against the Browns, but that was because the Ravens held the lead much of that game. Baltimore is a run first team, which makes it hard to gauge the type of game Andrews may have week to week. Against Cincinnati, I think it could be a shootout, which is unheard of for AFC North battles usually. Andrews has had 4 catches and 40+ yards in 8 out of 9 games so far. I expect a similar line with a few chances in the red zone against a middle of the road Bengals defense. Let’s not forget, his price tag also allows the chance to add 2-3 more star players before bargain bin diving.

Flex

Gus Edwards, Baltimore Ravens (DK-$7000/12,000)

Edwards was underwhelming against a stout Cleveland defense. He rushed 11 times for 24 yards, but did find the endzone. That is really why Edwards get a mention here, because he has been a TD machine as of late scoring 7 TDs over his last four games. That six point swing can make or break a lineup. He has been battling for touches with Keaton Mitchell, but seems to have a steady hold as the lead back. Even without great yard production just know that if the Ravens have short yardage to get in the end zone, Edwards is the go too.

Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals (DK-$6800/FD-$10,000)

No Tee Higgins means good thing for Tyler Boyds stat line. Last week he secured 8 catches for 117 yards and those number could repeat this week against Baltimore. The Bengals offense has plenty of pass catchers, but Ja’Marr Chase gets the most eyes on him. It opens things up for everyone else, which means guys like Boyd not having to battle with Higgins get more targets. He is priced in the perfect range for someone expected to get a heavy volume of looks.

Bargain Bin

Tanner Hudson, Cincinnati Bengals (DK-$2600/FD-$7000)

Despite having three tight ends getting snaps, Hudson has appeared to become the go to target for Joe Burrow over the last two weeks. Hudson has seen 12 targets that have turned into 10 receptions for 78 yards. That is wonderful value if that continues at his price. It allows the lineup to be filled out with talent all over, plus if you’re willing to plug in a Justin Tucker instead of one of my flex plays you could fit both QB’s in your lineup as well. Just saying, but it’s saying a lot.

Hope everyone ends up in the green for this Thursday night DFS showdown. It should be fun!
