Sunday Night DFS Showdown: Cowboys v. Niners

There are a handful of matchups every season that people look at as playoff caliber. This Sunday night DFS showdown is one of those matchups and we get it in primetime. The Cowboys and Niners always seem to deliver great games when they play, but this is a game early in the season that will establish one of them. The Niners have looked unstoppable all season, and outside of a hiccup against Arizona, the Cowboys look pretty tough too. This will be a fun one to watch and even though I’ll be at a wedding celebrating, I still will have a showdown lineup ready to go.

Let’s get into a big Sunday night DFS showdown roster build.

Captain/MVP

Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers (DK-$17,700/FD-$17,500)

The stars will be shining bright on Sunday night and no star shines as bright as McCaffrey. The man is making waves this season and is in the MVP conversation. Last week he put up 4 touchdowns and the worst game he has had resulted in 22.9 fantasy points. That floor is very high. Is it the easy and chalky pick? Yes, but I don’t think it takes much convincing or understanding of why he NEEDS to be your pick for the captain slot.

Flex

CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys (DK-$10,000/FD-$13,000)

Lamb had a laid back Sunday in week 4, mainly because the Cowboys D did a lot of scoring early on. He finished with 4 catches on six targets for 36 yards and a touchdown. Not a lot of work, but nice line for a guy that wasn’t needed. This week, he will be needed and I believe often. The front line of the niners is going to keep Pollard in check. Look for CeeDee to be Daks go to for big plays. The Niners don’t have many weaknesses, but the secondary is not as strong as the front seven. If the Cowboys are going to attack, it’s going to be there and Lamb will have to step up.

Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers (DK-$7600/FD-$12,500)

I know, Deebo got no love last week in the offense. He was dealing with injuries and is going to be moving forward, but if he is on the field I am taking him. He is a playmaker and behind McCaffrey, he is the biggest threat for San Fran. I expect a bounce back week from Deebo. Consider the fact he had no catches last week, but still has 17 catches for 247 yards on the season. We know he can ball. We just have to have the faith.

Bargain Bin

Brandon Aubrey, Dallas Cowboys (DK-$4200/FD-$9000)

A kicker is a bargain when he puts up 3 FGs on average per game. This game isn’t going to have any bargains, but a guy getting 10+ fppg has to be considered one at his price. Aubrey has been phenomenal for the Cowboys and we know the niners defense will bend and not break. That means FG opportunities. He gives some flexibilty without just putting in a throw away play.

Hope it’s a great game and everyone’s Sunday Night DFS showdown gets in the green!
