NFL Week 2 DFS: Sleeper Picks

Spread the love

Week 2 of the NFL season is upon us and that just means lots of confusion when it comes to your daily fantasy plays. Who do we spend up for and what slot gets the cheapest option so we can fit one more big name in our lineup? That’s what I am here for, to help you figure out the best players to make the budget work.

Quarterback

Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: DK- $5100/FD- $6800

This week Baker takes on the Bears. After seeing what Jordan Love did to Chicago last week, you can see why Baker is on my radar for this week. We know Baker is the touchdown maker and I expect him to get a few with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin cutting up the Bears secondary. He can put big numbers up each and every week with the offensive weapons around him. Early in the season is the perfect time to make the play for Baker.

Running Back

Joshua Kelley, LA Chargers: DK-$5000/FD-$6300

I get it, he’s the obvious sleeper choice and will be chalky this week. In a high flying offense, when the top RB option is out, the N0.2 back won’t be a bad fill in. The Chargers will be going up against a Titans defense that is going to get tired from the track meet the Chargers are capable of putting on. Plus, if you look at Kelley in week 1 (91 yards, 1 TD) you know the team has no issues using him heavily.

Wide Receiver

Tutu Atwell, LA Rams: DK-$4700/FD-$5500

We are staying in LA for our next pick, but going across the Sofi into the Rams locker room. Tutu should be in everyones lineup this week. He is cheap and his production should only increase after an impressive week 1 (6 catches for 119 yds) since Puka Nacua may be limited or out completely with an oblique injury. I get the Rams are playing the Niners, but I expect that also means plenty of pass plays will be needed. Look for Tutu too turn it up in week 2.

Tight End

Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions: DK-$3900/FD-$5100

Next time, when they ask LaPorta where he’s from he’s going to say Detroit city where they get back on their feet. That’s because the Lions are on their feet and looking to start running. In LaPortas case, hopefully start throwing. Going up against a Seahawks team that gave up 50 yards to Tyler Higbee, I like LaPortas lookout for the day. His value plays into this a lot since everyone knows Tight End is the most hostile position on all of fantasy sports. If it’s not Kelce or Andrews, know one knows who the TE 3 week to week will be. Goff clearly liked the big target as he saw 5 targets and receptions in his debut.

I hope these week 2 sleeper picks wake up your lineups!
