Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal plan a boxing match according to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani. Both fighters are former UFC stars, and the match is expected to take place later in 2024. The two fighters have previously fought against each other and headlined a pay-per-view in the UFC back in 2019. Masvidal emerged as the winner of that fight, forcing a stoppage by the doctor after the third round.

Diaz, who shot to fame in the UFC after defeating Conor McGregor in 2016, lost his first professional boxing match to Jake Paul in 2023. He left the UFC at the end of 2022 after completing his contract.

Masvidal, known for his striking prowess in the UFC, had retired from mixed martial arts last year after losing four consecutive fights. However, he has recently sparked speculation about a return to combat sports through his social media activity.

Masvidal, 39, has one professional boxing match under his belt, though it came in 2005, long before he debuted in the UFC.

Combined, Diaz and Masvidal headlined eight UFC pay-per-view events, including the one against each other.

Diaz is 22-13 all-time in the UFC, which includes 4-2 in TKO’s and 14-1 in Submissions. Specializing in jiu-jitsu, the fighter is also known for his trash-talking and brazen demeanor.

Masvidal is 35-17 in the UFC, with a 6-2 record in TKO’s and 2-2 in Submissions. The fighter has faced recent legal battles after attacking Colby Covington outside the ring.
