Monday Night DFS Showdown: Raiders v. Lions

It’s the night before Halloween and all through Detroit, Raiders were lurking ready to exploit! The Lions were prowling ready for a fight, which gave the Raiders coach McDaniels a fright! The lineups were waiting to be set up for a Monday night DFS showdown that was tough. You’re tired of waiting, and I’ve got no more rhymes, so let’s get into the game and figure out whose getting us into the green at game time.

Captain

Amon Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions (DK-$16,800/FD-$15,500)

I don’t usually go with the highest priced captain possible, but there are exceptions. This is one of those exceptions because of what Amon Ra brings to the table. He has been on fire the past two games, what else do you call 25 catches for 226 yards and a TD. I know he is listed questionable with an illness, but I assume he plays. Goff is looking nowhere else but St. Brown, not really, but that’s how it feels. He’s going against a Raiders defense that there’s nothing good to say about the secondary. He will scorch them like he has everyone else so far. I expect St. Brown to have a scary good game.

*If Amon Ra St. Brown is ruled out. Flex to Jahmyr Gibbs as your Captain.

Flex

Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders (DK-$8200/FD-$10,500)

Meyers has scored a TD in three straight games and five times total on the year. That has to do with the fact teams double DeVante Adams a lot of times giving Meyers one-on-one matchups. He has taken those matchups and devoured corner backs. Meyers has recorded 19 catches over his last 3 games while racking up 186 yards to go with the touchdown streak. He is a perfect flex play being 7 highest priced starter. He was almost my Captain pick, he has been before, that’s how much I put into Meyers as a great play.

Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions (DK-$8600/FD-$12,000)

The line Gibbs put out in a blowout loss to the Ravens is incredible. He managed 23+ fantasy points across both DraftKings and Fanduel. His team scored 6 points! Imagine what he’s capable of when his team is winning and he’s the featured back? We find out tonight is my guess. Gibbs will still be the true No.1 back with David Montgomery still on IR. He put up 68 rush yards and 58 receiving yards on 9 catches. That is a great sight to see as a DFS player, that’s why I said if St. Brown is out to flex Gibbs into the Captain spot.

Bargain Bin

Austin Hooper, Las Vegas Raiders (DK-$800/FD-$7000)

When I say “Bargain Bin” I truly mean it. Hooper is not a heavily utilized player for the Raiders. In fact, his usage has gone down the with the rise of rookie tight end Michael Mayer. No, not the masked serial killer from the Halloween franchise, the Notre Dame product. Hooper saw 22 snaps last week against Chicago, he managed two catches though and that’s enough for the bargain slot. Using him gives the chance to still roster 4 of the top 7 players in this showdown. Do with that what you will.

Best of luck to everyone in tonight’s Monday night DFS showdown and let’s hope to all end in the green!
