Matches the same feat from 2021

Caglianone tied the NCAA record by homering in his ninth consecutive game, matching Tyler Bosetti’s feat in 2021. The home run also extended Caglianone’s on-base streak to 24 games and his hitting streak to 17 games.

“It’s something we’ve never seen before, honestly,” said Florida head coach Kevin O’Sullivan. “And we’ve had some really good hitters over the last 16 or 17 years.”

Caglianone, who attended Tampa’s Plant High School, alongside famous baseball players like Wade Boggs, Pete Alonso, and Kyle Tucker, is currently trailing Georgia’s first baseman, Charlie Condon, by only one home run for the lead in the NCAA. In the year 2023, Caglianone, who was a preseason first-team All-American, managed to set a school record by hitting 33 home runs.

Top Prospect

Caglianone is a baseball player who is currently ranked No. 5 on MLB.com’s top 2024 draft prospects list. He has the chance to break the NCAA record for consecutive games with a home run on Saturday when his team, the Gators, plays against the 13th-ranked Commodores.

Apart from his impressive performance at the plate, Caglianone is also a good pitcher. This season, he has a 4-0 record and has struck out 49 batters in 39.1 innings.

As he attempts to set the NCAA record, Caglianone will also be starting as a pitcher for the Gators on Saturday.
