Effingham Outlaws welcome The Tribe this Saturday

Spread the love

The EAFL is in full force! On Saturday March 9th at 7:00 pm, two unbeaten teams from the AAA-North Division will square off in Hardeeville, South Carolina.

The Tribe…

The Tribe (roster) are playing their second game, with a 1-0 record to brag on. Unfortunately, the original game 1 for them against the Gainesville Ducks was cancelled due to weather. However, ‘Fear The Spear’ was in full effect as The Tribe won 6-0 against the Savannah Falcons in their season debut. Quite the statement!

The Outlaws…

At home are the Effingham Outlaws. The pride of Effingham County, the Outlaws have some new faces on and off the field. On the field is quarterback Mike Hamilton who has been the hero offensively in both wins this Spring. Off the field is General Manager Megan Lewis who has a storied background of helping underground football teams succeed.

Last week on the road against the Golden Isles Grizzlies in Brunswick, Georgia, Megan told a player who was very irate to, “Get off my team,” down 14-0 before the Outlaws would storm back and win 20-14. Nobody on the sidelines questioned her authority or decision making. The player left accordingly. It was raw and pure, especially for semi pro football.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!

There’s more awesome for Effingham (roster) to look forward to very soon. Trevon Wilkenson may play this week. Another very talented athlete who is believed to take over quarterback duties, leaving Mike Hamilton to operate more freely as a playmaker, specifically as wide receiver and running back. The future is bright in the 912.

The Hypothetical Odds…

Let’s have some fun. Last week, the Outlaws were -6 favorites against the Grizzlies with a total of 43. The game was affected by heavy rain, with Effingham winning 20-14 on a comeback. This time, the odds will be hypothetically set at Outlaws -8 with a total of 37. Rain is expected at times during the game, but that shouldn’t stop Mike Hamilton and company from putting up some points. The key to the game will be opportunistic defenses.

The game will air for everyone to see on Sunday 3/10 at 8:00 pm eastern via 12oz Sports. Check the social media pages of 12oz and / or the 12oz website to get the link when it becomes available!
