Yankees adjusting 2024 road jerseys
The New York Yankees are reportedly altering their road jerseys
It appears the Yankees are adjusting their 2024 road jerseys. At first glance, the New York Yankees will look unchanged on the road, sporting their traditional gray jersey with black font on the front. That said, it will be different when one puts the magnifying glass closer to the jersey at hand. New York’s 2024 road jerseys will feature the same base, gray color but without the white piping around “NEW YORK,” UniWatch reported Tuesday.
The Yankees are reportedly going back to their pre-1973 style road uniforms, per @UniWatch.
The team is removing the white piping around the “NEW YORK” wordmark and back numbers, along with the trim on their sleeves.

The Yankees’ home jersey has remained the same, featuring pinstripes in black and white on both the jersey and pants. Last season, the team finished with a record of 82-80, placing fourth in the AL East. This marked their worst winning percentage (50.6%) since 1992 when they had a percentage of 46.9%. The Yankees missed the MLB playoffs for the first time since 2016. Nevertheless, they have been active in the offseason, acquiring several notable players including outfielder Juan Soto, veteran Alex Verdugo, and starting pitcher Marcus Stroman, who signed a two-year deal. Additionally, first baseman Anthony Rizzo and left-hander Nestor Cortes are set to return after missing significant playing time due to injury in 2023.
