Sunday Night DFS Showdown: Bears v. Chargers

It’s time for some Sunday night football and we have an interesting matchup with the Bears and Chargers. It’s interesting because neither of these teams are really performing well or poorly. Does that make sense? No, I didn’t think so, but it should lead to a fun game to watch tonight. If anything, just more football and possibilities of winning money. That is never a bad thing. Let’s get into it this Sunday night DFS showdown.

Captain

Austin Ekeler, L.A. Chargers (DK-$16,800/FD-$14,500)

In a league full of great running backs, Ekeler would be considered in the top 5 for many. He hasn’t performed to that level yet this season. I know he was hurt and missed some time, but the games he has played have been…meh. He turns that around against Chicago. A bottom tier defense that have had their fare share of giving it up to RBs. This season they are averaging giving up 69 rushing yards per game and 56.8 receiving yards per game. That tracks well for what Ekeler does for the Chargers. He is a swiss army knife of a RB who can do it all and takes eyes off of Keenan Allen. Expect to see him putting stats up throughout all categories tonight.

Flex

DJ Moore, Chicago Bears (DK-$9200/FD-$12,000)

Someone has to catch the ball in Chicagos offense, right? In all honesty, Moore has been a breath of fresh air for Chicago being a legitimate No.1 receiver for them. Even with Justin Fields hurt, rookie Tyson Bagent had no issues picking up where Fields and Moore left off. DJ was targeted nine times against the Raiders in week 7 and hauled in 8 receptions for 54 yards. We know the Chargers can put up points, which means plenty of pass attempts and potential targets for Moore. If there is one Bears player to target, it’s Moore.

Donald Parham Jr., L.A. Chargers (DK-$4200/FD-$7000)

It needs to be noted that this play makes sense ONLY if Gerald Everett is ruled out for tonights game. If he isn’t please ignore and switch over to Everett. The feeling out of the Chargers locker room is that Everett is not going to be able to play tonight. Parham steps into the No.1 TE spot and gets a few more looks than he is use too. He averages around 3 targets a game and has 9 catches for 3 TDs this season. I like his as a low cost flex play with TD potential. I am being honest. That is why he is here.

Bargain Bin

Tyler Scott, Chicago Bears (DK-$1200/FD-$7000)

Scott is on the upswing in terms of being used in the Bears offense. After being targeted five times through the first fives games, he has seen 8 targets over the last two. He has turned those 8 targets into 4 catches and 31 yards. Those aren’t eye popping numbers. I understand that, but he is a bargain. A guy seeing at least 4 targets per game over his last two games isn’t anything two scoff at. Even if its the same production, that is about 4 fppg. At his cost and what that allows you to use on the rest of the roster can’t be overlooked.
