Novak Djokovic now has 100 more career weeks as ATP No. 1 than all other active players combined

Jannik Sinner has made history by becoming the first Italian player to finish a year in the Top 5 of either the ATP or WTA rankings. The ATP has released its year-end rankings, confirming Sinner’s achievement. The 22-year-old had a remarkable 2023 season, winning four ATP titles, including his first Masters 1000 title in Canada. He also reached his first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon, made it to the final of the ATP Finals, and led Italy to its first Davis Cup title since 1976.

Sinner’s victory in Beijing saw him reach a career-high ranking of No. 4 on October 2nd, which he has maintained ever since. Sinner was already one of seven Italian players to finish a season in the Top 10, having finished 2021 at No. 10. However, he has now become the first Italian player to finish a season in the Top 5.
