The former Buckeyes coach could’ve predicted this hire

Sherrone Moore impressed Urban Meyer back in November when the Wolverines beat Ohio State for a third straight time but without Harbaugh on the sidelines. Now, Michigan has recently declared the hiring of Moore as the new head coach to replace Jim Harbaugh, who left to take the helm as the new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday night. As expected, the team has announced that offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore will be taking over the program. According to reports, Moore has signed a five-year contract to lead the Wolverines football team into the future.

Meyer broke down the coaching job against OSU

Following the announcement, Big Ten Football posted a video of former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer breaking down Michigan’s performance against the Buckeyes. Moore was acting head coach following Harbaugh’s three-game suspension to end the season and had several jobs to do.

Meyer was impressed by how he coached the offensive line and ran the offense as offensive coordinator. All this as he acted as head coach in Harbaugh’s absence.

“Impressive,” was the word Meyer used to describe Moore and his performance against Ohio State.

Moore addresses media

In a statement released Friday night, Moore made it clear the standards set under Harbaugh won’t diminish.

“I have been preparing my entire coaching career for this opportunity. I can’t think of a better place to be head coach than at the University of Michigan,” he said. “We will do everything each day as a TEAM to continue the legacy of championship football that has been played at the University of Michigan for the past 144 years.”

“Our standards will not change. We will be a tough, physical, disciplined, hungry, championship-level team that loves football and plays with passion for the game, the winged helmet, and each other. We will also continue to achieve excellence off the field, in the classroom, and in our communities. I am excited to start working in this new role with our players, coaches, and staff.”

Many believe Moore is set for success in Ann Arbor.
