Four Events on the Future Schedule

The USGA has selected Sand Valley Resort, located in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, to serve as the host location for four USGA amateur championships, starting in 2026 with the U.S. Mid-Amateur. The resort will also host the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2029, the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur in 2030, and the U.S. Girls’ Junior in 2034.

Mark Hill, USGA managing director of championships, stated, “The USGA is excited to begin this commitment with Sand Valley Resort and we look forward to a long and fulfilling relationship.” “The Keiser family is dedicated to supporting amateur contests and serving as host of national championships. We are confident that the world’s top players will be thoroughly impressed and challenged by the resort’s courses.

Mike Keiser, the originator of Bandon Dunes, is the father of Michael and Chris Keiser, who own and run Sand Valley Resort. The resort is situated on almost 12,000 acres of natural property in Wisconsin’s Central Sands, a region known for its striking dunes, dunes, native pine forests, and restored timberlands. The resort is situated 220 miles from the Chicago region, 170 miles northwest of Milwaukee, and 100 miles north of Madison.

Five Courses

Five highly regarded golf courses may be found at Sand Valley Resort. The Lido, the main course for the U.S. Junior Amateur and Mid-Amateur in 2026 and 2029, is a private club that allows some resort play. Tom Doak and Brian Schneider, along with the Renaissance Golf crew, have meticulously recreated the storied links that were first planned by Charles B. Macdonald, the first U.S. Amateur champion, on Long Island, and first opened for play in 1917. Play on the newly constructed Lido course began earlier this year. The U.S. Navy reconfigured the original Long Island course during World War II, and it closed in 1942. To guide the project, Doak and Schneider collaborated with Peter Flory, a golf historian and software designer, using historical surveys, engineering data, and photos.
