NFL Sunday Night: DFS Showdown

Spread the love

The NFL Sunday night showdown is upon us and unfortunately it involves the Steelers….again. I say this with all the love in the world for Steeler nation, but your offense stinks. Back-to-back weeks of primetime showdowns is tough with this team. Najee looks slow as molasses out of the backfield and George Pickens is the only guy worth taking a flyer on. Diontae Johnson i out with a hamstring injury once again. Lastly, the defense is vulnerable against the run, and Jimmy G is not prone to interceptions through the air. I am not 100% sure what to expect from this game, but let’s get into the picks.

Captain My Captain

Jakobi Meyer, Las Vegas Raiders (DK-$12,900/FD-$11,500)

In his return to the lineup, I’m willing to take a chance on Meyer. I’m hoping he can replicate similar numbers to Week 1 (9 catches, 81 yards and 2 TD). When he came to the Raiders, everyone thought he would sit behind Hunter Renfrow. That doesn’t seem to be the case, and with extra eyes always on DaVante Adam, I like his upside.

Filler

Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders (DK-$10,800/FD-$12,500)

We know that the Pittsburgh run defense isn’t anything to worry about. Jacobs should have a bounce back week after a rough outing in Buffalo. I expect a big night for Jacobs and considered him a captain pick, but settling in as a filler to round out the lineup seems better suited. Look for flashes of the Josh Jacobs that led the league in rushing last year in tonight’s matchup.

Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers (DK-$6400/FD-$10,000)

Surprisingly it’s Warren as the RB you want from Pittsburgh. He has been a reliable pass catcher out of the backfield. In an offense that has a hard time moving the ball forward down field, expect plenty of work in the flats for Warren. He sprinkles a few runs in as well and has been the more productive back between him and Najee Harris.

Bargain Bin

Austin Hooper, Las Vegas Raiders (DK-$2400/FD-$7000)

There are a few options for the Bargain bin tonight, but Hooper gets the call from me. The tight end spot has not been prolific in this Raiders offense so far. In fact between Hooper and Michael Mayer they have 4 combined catches and no TDs. I think that changes tonight, I think Hooper finds the end zone and has a multi catch game. Plus at his cost, even 4 points helps you out.

Avoid

Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers (DK-$8800/FD-$13,000)

I’m not sure what happened to Najee over the off season, but the guy looks slow. The feet are moving, I see them, but he doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast. It shows, he’s gotten 16 rushes for 74 yards and very little work other wise. I don’t see much changing and that’s why I suggest you stay away from Harris.
