NFL DFS Value Plays: Week 6

It’s week 6 of the NFL, and the possibilities of using any guy you want from any team. Instead, we have to dive in even more for the value plays. The value is smaller, but this week isn’t too bad with only two teams on the bye week. This week we have the Steelers and Packers on bye weeks. Let’s get into the best value plays of the week 6 NFL slate for DFS.

Quarterback

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers (DK-$5600/FD-$7200)

The second coming of Tom Brady finally gets the call on my best value plays. I get it, he has been very good. His job is to not turn the ball over and he has done that, plus he’s added in some great games. Just take a look at week 5 against a Cowboys defense that’s suppose to put fear in every opposing QBs body. Nope didn’t happen to Brock, he was as cool as the other side of the pillow. He’s averaging 20.6 fppg and has been in the 20s his last 3 games. He’s consistent and against a Cleveland team that may struggle on offense, he will have lots of opportunities to throw the ball. I know the Niners are a run first team, but Brock will attempt over 26.5 passes, according to my source Beck. Rolling with Brock won’t make you Mr. irrelevant this week.

Running Back

Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots (DK-$5400/FD-$6200)

This is a value pick that comes with a little bit of a gamble, but what fun is DFS without some gambling? The Patriots offense has been awful and Stevenson hasn’t had much of a chance the last two weeks. In total he has had 22 rushes for 54 yards, not great. He came in with big hopes for this offense and fantasy purposes. It hasn’t paid off at all. The Patriots getting walloped and starters pulled early haven’t helped him either. I think that changes this week in Vegas. The Pats should have a somewhat normal game script that allows their first team offense to play a full game. We know that Stevenson is capable of a big day, it’s just having his team stay in the game long enough to have one develop.

Wide Receiver

Curtis Samuel, Washington Commanders (DK-$3700/FD-$6200)

I don’t know if Curtis Samuel and Sam Howell just became best friends suddenly, but their connection has been great the last two weeks. Samuel has compiled 13 catches for 116 yards and a TD since week 4. He is one of, if not, Howells favorite target at the moment. Going up against a tough Atlanta team that can contain the run just means more opportunities for Samuel. They like to move him around and get him the ball on sweeps, bubbles, and short routes so expect to see a decent load of it all for him.

Tight End

Jonnu Smith, Atlanta Falcons (DK-$3400/FD-$5100)

This is just going to be my weekly, “Jonnu is underrated, two bad years in New England means nothing, he wasn’t utilized properly” portion of the column. It’s true though, Smith was a top 10 TE In Tennessee, and then Bill Belichick broke him. He has a fresh start in Atlanta and you wouldn’t know Kyle Pitts is on the team with how many Smith gets in comparison. I mean, even fantasy sites are giving Jonnu the edge against his teammate. Desmond Ridder feels the same and clearly has a better sync with Smith and DFS sites haven’t made the adjustment in pricing.

Defense

There isn’t any one specific defense that stands out to me this week. All teams in the value range have had their struggles. I’d be willing to take a gamble on a Bengals (DK-$2900/FD-$4200) or Lions (DK-$2700/FD-$4400) defense that have been consistent and middle of the road return with 9 and 8.4 fppg respectively. The Lions take on a Bucs team that has good wide receivers, but Baker can play wild at times. The Lions will look to pounce. In Cincinnati, the Bengals take on a Seahawks team that just beat on a poor Giants D. The Seahawks weren’t that impressive though and the Bengals will pose a tougher challenge.

As always, I hope my NFL DFS value plays for the week help all of you land in the green!
