Pit crew members suspended for violations at Texas
NASCAR suspends six crew members from three Cup teams and one Xfinity team. They noted it was for violations related to crew protective clothing and equipment from this past weekend’s race at Texas Motor Speedway.
NASCAR announced the suspensions of several crew members for one race each. Zachary Yager, who worked as a tire carrier for Chris Buescher’s team at RFK Racing. Jacob Holmes, tire carrier on Christopher Bell’s team at Joe Gibbs Racing. Doug Warrick, who served as jackman on Austin Hill’s Cup team at Richard Childress Racing, and Brandon Harder, who was the fueler on Brandon Jones’ team at JR Motorsports.
They were each cited for Section 14.3.1.2 A, B & D in the Cup and Xfinity Rule Books.

Wear the gear
NASCAR mandates the use of SFI-approved uniforms, shoes, head socks and/or helmet skirts, gloves, underwear, socks, and helmets by their pit crew members.
In addition, NASCAR has suspended Kyle Larson’s pit crew members, Calvin Teague (rear tire changer), and Brandon Johnson (jackman), for two races each. The suspensions were a consequence of the rear wheel coming off Larson’s car during last weekend’s race.

The penalties kept coming
NASCAR also imposed penalties on the crew chiefs of Xfinity and Truck. This was for failing to secure all lug nuts on their vehicles after the races.
Phillip Bell, crew chief for Jones’ team at JRM, and Patrick Donahue, crew chief for Parker Kligerman’s team at Big Machine Racing, were fined $5,000 each in the Xfinity Series.
In the case of Stefan Parsons’ truck for Henderson Motorsports, Chris Carrier, the crew chief, was fined $2,500.
