Emoni Bates was suspended after entering the stands following the Cleveland Charge’s loss to the Birmingham Squadron on Saturday. Following this, NBA G League President Shareef Abdur-Rahim announced that Bates, along with his teammate Gabe Osabuohien, had been suspended for two games without pay for an incident that occurred after the game. The G League did not provide any further details except that their suspension will take effect from Monday night when the Charge will play against the Osceola Magic.

Before joining the pros, Bates, who is 19 years old and plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, had experienced some turbulence in his career due to off-field issues. He was suspended at Eastern Michigan following an arrest for felony gun charges, which were later dismissed.
Since joining the NBA, Bates has played 10 games and is currently averaging 1.8 points in 7.6 minutes.
