Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway, Jim Miller vs. Bobby Green
Announcements for UFC 300 have just been posted and some big matchups are on the card.
Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway will face off in a five-round lightweight bout for the “BMF” title at UFC 300, which was announced by UFC CEO Dana White via social media on Tuesday. Also, Jim Miller and Bobby Green will fight each other in a 155-pound event. The event is scheduled for April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will feature a strawweight championship showdown between Weili Zhang and Xioanan Yan.

Gaethje, a former World Series of Fighting champion, has won three of his last four Octagon appearances. He won the “BMF” belt by defeating Dustin Poirier via second-round knockout at UFC 291 in July last year. He had been considered one of the leading contenders for a lightweight championship fight against Islam Makhachev before the announcement of the fight against Holloway.
Holloway had previously lost a unanimous decision to Dustin Poirier in an interim title bout at UFC 236 when he competed at 155 pounds. The former featherweight king has won four of his last five fights, with his only loss coming via unanimous decision to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 276, his third loss to the Australian in a 145-pound championship clash.
Requested Fight
Miller has won five out of his last six fights under the UFC banner. The New Jersey native last won a third-round submission over Gabriel Benitez at UFC Fight Night 234 on Jan. 13. After his victory, he requested to fight at UFC 300. Although his preferred opponents Paul Felder and Matt Brown could not be arranged, his wish was granted.
Green, a 37-year-old fighter, had his two-bout winning streak snapped in his last outing when he suffered a first-round KO loss to Jalin Turner at UFC on ESPN 52. Green and Miller were scheduled to fight each other twice in the past — at UFC 276 and UFC 258 — but both fights were canceled.
