Pundit gets criticized for Tweet

ESPN’s Adam Shefter, as if he didn’t already realize, found out there’s no winning on social media. The pundit was simply reporting on the unfortunate injury of the Cleveland BrownsNick Chubb during Monday Night Football. The fans, however, were overly angry at how he worded his tweet.

Adam Schefter on Twitter: “Nick Chubb dislocated his left knee and tore his MCL, PCL, and LCL with cartilage damage on October 10, 2015 vs. Tennessee. He injured the same knee tonight vs. Pittsburgh. / Twitter”

Now, I am always one to find issues with the Mothership. However, you can’t please anyone. My goodness, what was wrong with this post? Please, tell me below in the comments. He was trying to give some backstory to Chubb’s knee issues during his playing career.

The problem, really, is most humans have now been conditioned to check out after the first few words. It makes my task as a writer pretty difficult, but hey…I still love it. Some readers seemingly admitted they don’t read past the first few words.

Maybe I’ve found some future editors for 12oz Sports!

Where does Chubb go from Here?

As far as Nick Chubb goes, it has been reported he will miss the rest of the 2023 NFL Season. As Mr. Shefter mentioned, this happened in 2015 in college. We will spare you the video from last night, or 2015. Let’s just say, I had to step away from my desk for a minute. Of course, I get queasy at the site of those things. Just the sounds of Chubb in agony on a hot mic had me leaving the room. Let’s hope this doesn’t ruin the man’s career.

On a lighter side, if any of you read our very own Greg Cowan’s fantasy build-up article HERE, you likely had Jerome Ford in your lineup. The rookie filled in for Chubb and rushed for over 100 yards, had 25 yards receiving, and scored a touchdown.
